NRTG is offering FREE Resume and Job Strategies Workshops!
NRTG’s Resumes and Job Search Strategies consists of three FREE sessions, each of two hours duration.
The first two of these (Resumes I and II) are focussed on resume development to highlight your skills, experience, and knowledge specific to a job; the third session (Job Search Strategies) is how to focus your job search and go after the specific job(s) you want.
This course is focussed on environmental jobs and work in the natural resource sectors. If you are seeking work within this arena, here you will get environmental specific guidance to apply for and retain a job. This is unlike most resume courses which are very general, and it is up to the student to determine how to adapt it to environmental work. Our highly experienced instructors will be providing environmental-specific advice to help you get that job you want.
Our final session Job Search Strategies we extend beyond simply the resume to discuss how to find and put yourself in the best position for that job you want. Here we advise on:
- Keeping your confidence up – the mental game
- Focus on what you want – only when that is clear to you can you make it clear to the employer
- Being persistent – The squeaky wheel certainly gets the grease in finding and getting a job
- Finding the person to talk to – workarounds to make direct contact with the important people in the decision making process.
NRTG has been offering Resumes and Job Search Strategies workshops over the past three years and have a record of helping students to find employment (or return to school if that is what they choose). Our staff and instructors are happy to – actually, they want to – advise, guide, and mentor people looking for work. NRTG can help you find and achieve that job you are wanting.
