Water Sustainability Technician Program

NRTG’s Water Sustainability Technician Program (WSTP) explores the growing global phenomenon of water scarcity, exacerbated by the rising demand and diminishing freshwater supplies. This program delves into the complexities of water management, which involves balancing the needs of various sectors and environments. Ecologists, engineers, agrologists, geologists, hydrologists, technicians, scientists and governments all contribute to sustainable water management but often with competing interests.  Key questions about water sustainability will be explored throughout the program.

Cultural Heritage Assessment and Monitoring

Cultural Heritage Assessment and Monitoring introduces participants to cultural resource management by providing methods of conducting assessments of traditional plants, wildlife and riparian features. In this course we consider pressures on the landscape, the cultural features of the land, and techniques that can be used to protect these features. Additionally, options for both short-term and long-term monitoring are explored with a cultural heritage lens. This program provides practical Inventory skills in the field utilizing visits to heritage, local, and community locations.

Forestry Field Skills Program

The Forestry Field Skills Program (FoFSP) provides students with leading edge technical skills that are in demand within forestry, cultural heritage, and natural resource disciplines. By providing hands on field skills, participants will be able to work as forestry technical assistants, aiding crews in environmental assessments, including cultural heritage, wildlife, and riparian assessments.
