AquaTerra Environmental Ltd. is seeking a motivated individual with electrofishing certification, or eligibility, and interest/experience in environmental monitoring to assist with the spring and summer field season, with possibility of extension into a full-time position.
The work will include conducting fish and amphibian salvages at a variety of municipal client sites including Burnaby, Coquitlam, Abbotsford, Kent, and Surrey. The work includes preparing sediment trap, forebay, pump station, channels, watercourses and ditches for maintenance works, including invasive vegetation and accumulated sediment removal, documenting and logging fish and amphibian salvage counts, monitoring sites during work for turbidity, pH and dissolved oxygen (DO), evaluating sites for species-at-risk presence, and liaising with clients/contractors.
Work would generally be Monday-Friday with the potential for Sunday work for salvages periodically, such that municipal works can proceed on Monday.
The ideal candidate would have their own vehicle to travel to/from work sites. We offer competitive hourly rates and have raised rates to account for recent inflation pressure.
